Sarah Mangold is my niece, I'm incredibly proud of her, and so honored that a painting of mine is featured on the cover of her latest book.
This sparkling, state of the art addition to SF's General Hospital is due to open in a few weeks, and The SF Arts Commission did a brilliant job selecting a fabulous and varied array of artwork to make the building feel very warm, colorful and positive. On March 5th, 2016, they gave a special tour for all the artists whose work was included in the hospital's collection. Very thrilling to see this facility, the amazing permanent mosaic, glass and sculptural commissioned works, and hundreds of framed pieces all around the facility by local artists. I'm so proud to be part of this. There are five of my paintings scattered around various floors. All the 2d work was printed very skillfully onto zinc, from high resolution digital files, as the hospital required all the artwork to be washable, in fact, hose-downable in the event of an epidemic outbreak! It was surprising how well it worked - the quality of these zinc plate prints was stunning.
Please come and visit the Noonan Building at Pier 70 on Halloween weekend. Many interesting artists.
